Crisis Care Associate provides crisis evaluation/interventions for mental health and substance abuse emergencies the Institute for Behavioral Health. Services are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Performs duties in support of the Medical Center mission to ensure the highest quality of patient care in an economically sound and efficient manner. This position serves: Child/Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics
- Assists in the ongoing assessments of all patients entering Crisis as evidenced by appropriate completion of all intake papers and written assessments.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of all third party payer pre-certification information and follows given protocols as seen by successful completion of written documentation.
- Triages incoming telephone calls appropriately and respectfully as indicated by peer reports/observation and client satisfaction survey.
- Maintains current knowledge of local resources within the community and accesses them as appropriate, as witnessed by assessment documentation and telephone log.
- Completes recording information with clarity and accuracy and in a timely manner as evidenced by appropriate completion of assessment forms and logs.
- Accesses appropriately the various on-call systems within the Institute for Behavioral Health as evidenced by written documentation in patients clinical file.
Education and Training:
- Bachelor’s Degree in sociology, social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Orientation to Crisis Services required
- Two years related experience in the field
