SUMMARY: The responsibilities of the Credit Manager position are to manage and monitor all of the credit and collection activities related to operations for Florida Tile, Inc. This position is responsible for all processes relating to the initial granting of credit, the denial of credit, negotiations with customers and outside third parties, the collection of all past due balances, and the communication of all necessary information. The overall mission of the position is to assure the consistent application of existing credit policies and procedures in order to optimize company sales while minimizing the overall risk to the company (i.e. keeping bad debt losses to a minimum). This position will manage the daily credit functions of all sales channels, oversee the Credit Analyst positions, perform weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting, attend credit meetings, and work with all levels within the organization. This position will assist in the maintenance and development of Credit Department policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management
  • Maintain a department organizational structure sufficient to meet all goals and objectives
  • Properly motivate the Credit Analyst staff
  • Measure department performance with established metrics
  • Provide for ongoing training of the credit staff
  • Manage relations with collection agencies
  • Manage relations with credit reporting agencies
  • Manage relations with the Sales department
  • Manage relations with Florida Tile Staff
  • Manage relations with State Treasury Department
  • Manage relations with Lien holding agencies
  • Attend training & meetings as required for job function
Credit Operations
  • Maintain the corporate credit policy
  • Recommend changes in the credit policy to senior management
  • Create a credit scoring model
  • Manage customer credit files
  • Monitor the credit granting and updating process
  • Accept or reject the staff's credit recommendations
  • Personally investigate the largest customer credit applications
  • Monitor periodic credit reviews & approvals
  • Monitor deductions being taken by customers
  • Manage the application of late fees
  • Manage the daily operations for continuity of work flow
  • Approval of payment arrangements
  • Monitor and maintain spreadsheet of accounts in bankruptcy
  • Balance end of day credit transactions
  • Maintain Notary Public Assignment
  • Month-End, Quarterly and Annual reporting
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2+ years of credit experience or in another Account Receivable position
  • Experience with credit scoring systems preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of credit-related laws
  • Considerable experience with negotiations
  • Ability to investigate and resolve complex issues
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of customers and employees
  • Must be detail oriented and organized with good time management skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work and learn both independently and with a team
  • Excellent phone etiquette
  • High level of analytical ability
  • Proven ability to evaluate risk, exposure, financial performance, and credit management
  • Credit experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
