JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:
Credit Review Analysts review diversified loans to ensure that acceptable credit standards are maintained ensuring loans conform to established company policy; identify potential loan losses to help establish an adequate loan loss reserve calculation and prepare loan review reports for distribution to account officers and management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review diversified loans to identify early warning signs and make recommendations to correct or minimize loan loss exposure.
  • Notify supervisor of trends as it pertains to the group under review
  • Use credit and financial information to verify continuing credit worthiness of the client.
  • High level review of collateral documentation as needed.
  • Evaluates the adequacy of loan risk codes and accrual status. Recommends changes as needed.
  • Prepares and distributes formal reports derived from the review and analysis of information obtained presenting both quantitative and qualitative evaluations of the asset quality of the credit and offering recommendations to effect improvement.
  • Assists with gathering information, preparing reports, completing special projects as needed.
  • May serve as an assistant team leader for a specific portfolio review as part of the department’s staff development process
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
  • Three years of related banking experience required preferably in credit analysis, credit review and/ or commercial lending.
  • A combination of equivalent education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Understands business implications of decisions (errors, omissions or misinterpretations could adversely impact the bank’s earnings and the creditability of the department).
  • Ability to apply conceptual intent of loan/deposit/payment transactions to practical situations
  • Multi-state knowledge of laws, regulatory requirements and compliance rules
  • Possesses strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Ability to formulate sound conclusions and recommend optimal course of action based on analysis
  • Good understanding of problem loan identification, loan structuring, financial analysis, as well as a basic understanding of the industries under review.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
