Responsibilities:
Program Overview

Youth Villages is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our creative team in designing and implementing campaigns, initiatives, and projects. You would be a Communications team member tasked with creating compelling creative ideas and maintaining and supporting our existing brand.

The Graphic Designer will ensure that all work aligns with Youth Villages' brand, mission, and values. The candidate will create digital assets for multimedia and graphics projects, including websites, mobile, digital signage, landing pages, advertising, PowerPoint presentations, and emails. Additional support with design and execute print needs for printed marketing collateral & program materials. Projects will typically include all aspects of pre-production, production, and post-production. Includes but not limited to: Graphic Design, Video, Web, Presentations, Multi-Media, and Printing. All candidates are required to submit a portfolio.

Position Overview

  • Create and maintain digital and print brand materials - advertisements, email designs, event materials, marketing collateral, presentations, social assets, web layouts and graphics, videos, and more.
  • Creative, detail-minded self-starter with a strong, clean visual design sense
  • Works well independently and with a team and displays excellent follow-through and self-initiative.
  • Proficiency with print design, preparing files for print, and experience working with print vendors.
  • Elevate our brand by creating and maintaining a high visual bar across all design touchpoints.
  • Pitch creative ideas, employ visual storytelling, and collaborate with the team to launch projects.
  • Working with tight deadlines, take a project from ideation to completion, which includes preparing final files for print and digital
  • Temperament to have creative design reviewed multiple times with feedback from various parties.
  • Review deliverables for technical accuracy, design consistency, application, and performance.
  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics, and layouts, while maintaining the established brand style.
  • Design within templates and create new templates for increased efficiency.
  • Attend and participate in events as needed and/or assigned
  • Understanding of design principles and techniques: creative process; briefing; creative concept development; visual storytelling; traditional and vector illustration; composition; layout; photo manipulation; typography; file preparation
  • Stay current on the latest design trends and tools to bring new ideas to our work.

**Please note this is not a remote position. The Graphic Designer is an office-based position.

Qualifications:
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following is preferred: Marketing, Design, Graphic Design, Advertising, Web Design, Multi-Media Design, Media Design, Art, Computer Arts, and/or other related certification or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • 2+ years of agency or corporate design experience in executing digital design projects is required, including but not limited to: Graphic design, social media content, and content development
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite CC with proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; familiarity with Adobe XD, Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects (for Mac) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Additional experience with a Digital Asset Management (DAM) tool or project management system (Wrike) is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in design layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, and print
  • Strong inclination for organization, process adherence, and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • The ability to work flexible hours to meet tight deadlines when necessary
  • Able to work efficiently across multiple projects and platforms while ensuring on-time delivery
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS
  • Web design/coding skills, a plus
  • All candidates are required to submit a portfolio.
