Position summary
Provides support to ensure that costs for the company’s products and services are allocated according to corporate procedures and in compliance with financial accounting standards. Key contributor for operational activities to successfully execute analysis of product costing, manufacturing results, and inventory valuation for presentation to management. Gathers historical cost data (materials, labor, depreciation, operating expenses, etc.), to compare budgets with actual expenses. Completes month end, budget requirements and improve/automate process, systems, operational and management analysis and timely and accurate reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
- Analyzes costs and prepares monthly reports comparing actual costs to the budget and prior year costs.
- Summarize and allocate expenses to proper business units on a monthly basis.
- Analyzes changes in raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
- Compiles and prepares, in coordination with plant manager and directors, forecast and budget for manufacturing facilities and related operations and/or other assigned departments.
- Provides administrative and/or analytical support for capital projects as necessary.
- Reviews invoices for correct account distribution and tax assessment.
- Perform detailed general ledger account analysis for inventory, accrual and capital equipment accounts.
- Assists in midyear and yearend audit activities.
- Other special projects or necessary duties as required for harmonious business, business growth and working relationships.

Education, Experience, Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university. CPA/CMA or CPA/CMA candidate a plus.
- One year cost accounting experience.
Language Skills
- English proficiency required; second language a plus – Spanish or French preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Working knowledge of multiple units of measure for inventory and product costing.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
- Working knowledge of personal computers, including the Windows operating system.
- Advanced proficiency in desktop software applications such as Microsoft Office (spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, project management).
- Working knowledge of Oracle Process Manufacturing and/or SAP software.
