Cost Accountant

As a flexible packaging manufacturer, INDEVCO Plastics designs and manufactures sustainable plastic films and bags that promote a circular economy. Our end markets range from beverage, processed food, and pet food, to building and construction, industrial salt and minerals, lawn, and garden. We work closely with packaging converters and packaging machinery manufacturers.

How you will perform the role

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for assessing business expenses and preparing optimized budget plans. Their duties include reviewing financial records, researching the market rate for key business costs, and adjusting the company ledger to accurately reflect balance sheets. The Cost Accountant will collaborate with other accounting and financial staff to provide financial and accounting support to department heads who establish goals and budgets.

Job Responsibilities

• 
  Collect and analyze data regarding operational costs
• Set standard costs of manufactured goods
• Develop and analyzing cost standards
• Carry out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis
• Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
• Perform account reconciliations
• Recommend changes to the processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
• Advise management on appropriate costing based on financial data
• Manage balance sheet and accounting books
• Support other accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure

Job Qualifications & Education

•

• Analytical mind, Hard worker, Effective time management skills
• Self-starter - Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact professionally and effectively with all levels of company personnel
• Advanced Excel with strong report presentation skills
• Experience working with Microsoft Dynamic accounting system or similar ERP system
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CMA/CPA or CPA track preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in manufacturing accounting
