Hiring Range: $56,825.00 - $74,880.00/Year D.O.Q.Port Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) currently is seeking a dynamic individual to join the Communications team. The qualified individual is responsible for supporting company communications needs by providing strategic on-brand messaging. The ideal candidate will promote program goals and transparency by distilling technical topics into key messages, suitable to target audiences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAdheres to all PCCA policies, promotes and adheres to the SEAPORT values and maintains good employee relationsOpportunity to function in pre- or post-disaster preparedness as an essential employeeCANDIDATE PROFILEThe preferred candidate for this position should be a nimble and self-directing individual with a focus on achieving positive, effective outreach communications in support of PCCA goals and initiatives. They must possess the following: EDUCATION & CREDENTIALSBachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field preferredAbility to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) during course of employmentSafe driving record with valid driver’s licenseEXPERIENCE & JOB KNOWLEDGEDemonstrated technical writing, editing, and communication for publication with strong technical writing experienceDemonstrated experience with social media platforms including YouTube/LinkedIn/ Twitter/FacebookExperience creating newsletter and Web site contentExperience scripting events, speeches and formal lettersDemonstrated strength in copyeditingExperience with photography and videography and the production of videosExperience in exercising good judgement and diplomacy when drafting communications on sensitive issues/topicsHistory of creating effective working relationships dealing with the public and collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds and areas of technical expertiseProficiency with audio visual equipment and personal computersHands-on approach with strong technical knowledge and presentation skillsEffective collaborator with respect for Chain of CommandTECHNICAL SKILLSEffective business communication (written and verbally), including spelling, grammar and punctuation; proficiency in Spanish preferred but not requiredEffective interpersonal, presentation, organizational and time-management skillsProactive organizer able to strategize, meet goals and work well within a demanding environment centered around tight deadlines and a multitude of projects with changing prioritiesAbility to manage multiple tasks from inception to completion; open and willing to take on challenges with ability to set priorities, take initiative and exercise sound independent judgmentProfessional, dynamic, energetic, positive self-starter with ability to maintain confidentiality, tact and diplomacy while commanding presenceDrive and initiative to create dynamic partnerships and ability to represent PCCA effectively, respectfully and persuasively with diverse communitiesMeticulous and inventive mind; possesses solid problem-solving and decision-making skillsAbility to exercise judgement and defer to supervisor when approached by media representatives about sensitive topics Ability to prepare clear, concise reports, notes, correspondence and other written materials; capacity to review, revise and edit all materialsAbility to define issues, perform research, evaluate alternatives, and develop sound, independent conclusions and recommendationsProficiency in MS Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), graphic computer programs and other related applicationsAbility to operate standard office equipment Ability to understand, interpret and apply PCCA policies, tariffs, state and federal lawsESSENTIAL PHYSICAL JOB FUNCTIONSAbility to perform essential job functions, including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking or hearing, typing and occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work in a general office environment, with exposure to the elements when visiting worksitesAbility to operate light-weight highway vehicles and standard office equipment and to work the requisite hours to fulfill position objectives, including evenings and/or weekends, as neededAPPLICATION PROCESSInterested and qualified candidates must apply online at www.portofcc.com on or before December 9, 2022, 11:59 pm CST.
