Essential Functions:

Providing oversight to assure that the program content and instructional program complies with the standards and guidelines set forth in the RWJ Barnabas Health program curriculum,

Provides oversight to assist with the recruitment, selection and orientation of instructional staff,

Provides oversight to assure that the EMT initial, Refresher and Continuing Education programs are operated in compliance with NJ OEMS and RWJ Barnabas Health Policies and Procedures

Serving as primary contact for EMT related programs regarding equipment and supplies

Procures and inventories all teaching materials and instructional aids

Provides quarterly updates to EMT instructional staff

Creates instructional staff shifts based on course / program needs

Coordinates facilities and services where students can fulfill clinical and/or field experience requirements

Participates in the organizational strategic planning process of developing both short term and long-term objectives,

Participates in continuing professional development programs as appropriate,

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Training Center Director or EMT Program Director

Conducts self in a professional, dignified and compassionate manner at all times

Capable of communicating clearly, effectively and in English via written and verbal means

Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance during all interactions,

Ensures that all Policies and Procedures are followed

Responsible for maintenance of required certifications in accordance with RWJBH policies and all applicable State and Federal statutes and regulations

Responsible for baseline and continuing knowledge of RWJBH policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal statutes and regulations concerning emergency medical services, basic life support ambulance service, EMT & Paramedic certifications, etc,

Interacts professionally with management, colleagues from other EMS agencies, public safety personnel, other healthcare providers and members of the public

Ensures that all programs are in compliance with State regulations, the National Standard

Conduct investigations from customer complaints

Review and/or revise all educational policies to ensure that they are current and draft policies as needed

Establishes benchmarks for all educational programs and fosters a culture of continuous improvement in all programs
