Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Continuous Improvement Specialist. This position will be filled for the purpose of managing continuous improvement processes as they relate to product support operations. Keeping the customer’s perspective and change management in mind, this person will possess a determination to drive efficiencies while improving safety, velocity, customer loyalty, and costs. This position will be responsible for educating leaders and employees and to support continuous improvement throughout the operations organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Consults with the business to analyze, evaluate, and solution operational challenges
  • Document and communicate the impact of improvements made to the business through meaningful metrics on processes and employee behavior
  • Leads and rolls out a continuous improvement and innovation mindset across all facilities through training, engagement activities, and campaigns.
  • Assists managers with the utilization of continuous improvement tools to identify opportunities, creates plans for change, and executes the improvements in a sustainable way
  • Facilitates continuous improvement meetings with key stakeholders
  • Delivers continuous improvement training and support for the department leadership and employees
  • Assists with site assessments and Rapid Improvement Workshops
  • Effectively communicates advantages of continuous improvement solutions and overcomes objections as necessary
  • Guides the change process when supporting the implementation of improvements and solutions through stakeholder mapping, change impacts, change roadmaps, and other change management tools.
  • Works with a variety of cross-functional teams to lead continuous improvement aligned with organization initiatives through one-on-one interviews, focus groups, surveys, etc.
  • Manages CPS (Caterpillar Production Systems) and Six Sigma operations projects
  • Creates and manages the CPS issue escalation and follow up process
  • Improves and monitors CPS reporting tools
  • Produces necessary metrics reports to update CPS boards
  • Works in a cooperative manner with team and superiors
Qualifications:
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
  • CPS and Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred. Training provided.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, change management, and organizational skills
  • Experience in operations
  • Customer service and consulting experience preferred
  • Strong PC knowledge with advanced MS Office skills
  • Clean driving record
Travel:
Up to 10-25% travel
Minimum Physical Requirements:
  • Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing
  • Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
