POSITION SUMMARY
Design and improve standardized processes to ensure safety, quality and productivity throughout PDC operations. Maintain written documentation and audit process adherence. Train warehouse associates on processes. Assist warehouse operations by utilizing continuous improvement techniques. Develop standardized packaging specifications. Work every day to improve the operation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Design and improve processes to ensure safety, quality, productivity and consistency between PDC’s.
- Create and maintain written standard work instruction on all warehouse processes. Provide documented training to all associates.
- Train and lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams focusing on measurable quality, service and cost benefits. Motivate personnel in the adoption of lean principles. Drive continuous improvement throughout the PDC network.
- Improve packaging standardization to provide adequate protection and product integrity to the parts during transit. Ensure all packaging meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate repackaging of supplier components, working through the Supply team to implement beneficial solutions.
- Monitor and conduct audits to ensure process adherence. Work with warehouse supervisors to ensure implementation of corrective action plans. Coach and help develop a problem-solving culture at all levels of the warehouse operation.
- Assist in setting operational targets and help drive improvements to achieve those targets.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Relevant experience in areas including: Principles of Lean, 5S, process mapping and writing, packaging, project management preferred.
- Must be able to question the status quo and be a leader of change.
- Critical/logical thinker with good reasoning skills to solve a wide range of business problems.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High energy, positive outlook, results oriented, self-motivated and calm under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Intermediate to Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
- Good business acumen and commercial awareness.
- Must be comfortable teaching and presenting to groups.
- Proven ability to successfully manage cross-functional teams.
- Ability to travel up to 25% with this position.
