ABOUT THE ROLE
The Construction Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of Transit Wireless’ (TW) construction projects, upgrades, new installations, and major repair projects. As a build-out and quality specialist, the Construction Manager will direct TW staff, location representatives and subcontractors performing installation, maintenance, and testing of our network buildout. This person will also supervise the technical crew, act as a job site representative for TW safety requirements, coordinate with contractors, facilities representatives, handle negotiations for bids, prepare contracts, and resolve problems as they arise. To minimize impact to live networks, this position requires work hours to change dependent on work being performed. New York is the primary location, however support of projects in other areas may be required.

• Manage construction projects according to design documents, industry best practices and quality standards
• Modify design documents (redline markups) when changes occur
• Working with Safety personnel to manage on site safety requirements
• Interfacing with Procurement, Management, Engineering, Field Staff, Contractors, Site Representatives, and others
• Participate in pre- and post- construction activities including reviews, JSA’s and other Safety forums, lessons learned, etc.
• Maintain logs of all work performed providing follow up and consultations as needed

Information Security Responsibilities:

• Ensure members of team have read and understand the Information Security Policy
• Ensure members of the team know their responsibilities for information security
• Ensure members of the team keep their security awareness training up to date
• Provide positive support for the achievement of ISMS objectives
• Ensure information security incident response efforts are given appropriate support in accordance with incident classification and priority
• Stakeholder and owner of information and cyber security risks
• Stakeholder for security controls affecting the team

ABOUT YOU

• 5+ years’ experience in civil, mechanical, electrical or RF construction engineering
• Possess familiarity with wireless system buildouts including equipment, tools and testing methodologies
• Possess familiarity reading and interpreting test results including PIM, coax sweep, fiber test results and others
• Possess strong knowledge of construction management principles, practices, codes, and regulations, including electrical (NEC), building, MTA, and federal / state requirements around installation specifications and quality control including previous exposure to civil work
• Demonstrate an understanding of network quality, maintenance and repair principles and protocols including design documentation such as blueprints, network specifications, installation & testing (PIM / Fiber / Power / Line Sweep), quality inspections and maintenance of equipment, cleaning, and servicing to ensure work completed is to expected standard
• Demonstrate familiarity with engineering principles and protocols including RF, Fiber and electromechanical, as it relates to network operation, repair, and maintenance
• Possess knowledge of contractor management practices and processes to ensure quality, safety, support and adherence to construction management principles and guidelines in collaboration with project managers for project management compliance
• Working knowledge of vendor and inventory management, including stakeholder management to ensure inventory position is accurately communicated and maintained (location and supply levels)
• Possess industry knowledge and currency in safety requirements (OSHA compliance) technology, product or solution advancements, equipment developments and network enhancements e.g., fiber, Voice, 5G, Data
• Knowledge of civil construction methods
• Familiarity with safe work principles
• Ability to provide expert guidance to others on site
• Ability to identify lapses in quality and have the on-site team resolve any problems before leaving the location
• Ability to document or assist in documentation of work being done
• Familiarity with fiber optic cable installation and testing

Pay: $115,000.00 - $158,000.00 per year
