About this role:
Gregg Drilling is currently looking to hire a person responsible for managing the full fabrication, assembly, and service of Gregg’s cone penetration testing equipment. Working in conjunction with the maintenance team, the successful candidate will source a supply chain based on the current designs. They will lead the ordering of supplies and coordination of required components to meet delivery time frames. They will oversee the testing and quality control and maintain adequate supply of cones for Gregg’s land and marine operations. The successful candidate will work with Sealaska’s lead scientist to develop upgrades to current design or additional probes and modules based on market demand and R&D. They will manage the maintenance team to ensure repairs are completed on schedule, shipments are on-time and communication channels remain open with operations.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with operations to ensure an adequate supply of cones to Gregg Drilling, Gregg Marine and Sealaska Marine Services
- Identify and manage supply chain for the cone elements (circuit boards, components, fabrication, electronics)
- Research and develop relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Monitor and control the supply of cones from fabrication to delivery including returns for repairs and maintenance/calibration
- Lead the maintenance team in defining and implementing a QAQC program for the equipment
- Provide QAQC information and specifications to operations and BD team for projects and proposals
- Work with operations & Sealaska’s lead scientist to develop improvements, modifications and new modules as desired by operations and management
- Work with Gregg’s accounting department to maintain finances and accounting for costs related to manufacturing and maintenance.
- Associate or Bachelors degree in mechanical, electrical engineering or related field
- 2-3 years experience working in fabrication, mechanical or electrical engineering
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on teamwork
- Management of supply chain
- Proficient with MS Office and Teams
- Understanding of QAQC processes
- Understanding of CPT technology or geotechnical instrumentation is a plus
- Flexible working options available, with willingness to travel within California (Sacramento area or Northern California preferred – current assembly and testing shop located in Auburn, CA)
