Summary
The Technology Specialist works with other members of the technology team to ensure that technology is working sufficiently to allow all employees to do their jobs, with an emphasis placed on our core mission of educating students.
Requirements
This full-time position requires a person who has the technical knowledge and sufficient understanding to comprehend the entire scope of technology administrative and instructional utilization in a school district. This person must have specific programming and computer diagnostic skills sufficient to solve problems, maintain security, and implement technology utilization throughout the District.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Advanced Microsoft Windows/MacOS/iOS troubleshooting skills
- Experience deploying Microsoft Windows via Intune MDMBasic Windows Server Management skills
- The ability to climb a ladder and/or use a man lift
- Desktop and laptop repair experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
- Familiarity with ticket systems
- Understanding of basic networking principles and troubleshooting
- Experience the physical installation of computer networks
- Power tool experience
- Familiar with low voltage wiring
- Ability to learn new software and assist others
Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Helping monitor and resolve help desk tickets
- Apple laptop MDM management
- iPad management
- Chromebook management
- Security cameras
- Reset passwords as needed
- Running cable (including networking and video cable)
- Chromebook repair
- Laptop repair
- Desktop repair
- Installing software
- Assisting other members of the technology department with larger projects
- Helping maintain asset tracking database
- Documenting procedures
Softskills Needed:
- A passion for learning, teaching, and sharing knowledge
- Comfortable working one–on-one with staff troubleshoot or assist in proper use of software/equipment
- The ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- The ability to prioritize tasks appropriately
- Ability to assist users and trainers with software and hardware
- Ability to train educators and support staff in the use of software and hardware
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the organization
Certifications/Experience
- 3-5 year experience working as a computer technician or similar position
- A+ (or equivalent work experience)
- Network+ (or equivalent work experience)
