who uses a wheelchair.

Location:
Culver City

Schedule:
Weekends - Saturdays & Sundays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Rate of Pay:
Starting at $20 per hour
(Negotiable depending on experience)

Job Description:

As a Companion / Caregiver / Driver, you will support the needs of our client in his home and surrounding community, providing personalized, professional, and loving care. Our client in Culver City is a 35-year-old male who has Traumatic Brain Injury and uses a wheelchair. Family will provide accessible vehicle for transportation.

As a member of his Caregiving staff, you will support him in attending multiple medical appointments and taking medications. Assist with basic care needs, including transfers in and out of his chair, some hygiene assistance, cooking, cleaning, and companionship. You will maintain daily records in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy and procedures. Most importantly, you will care for, motivate, and inspire!

Our client is personable, interesting and knowledgeable, and will benefit from intellectual conversation with staff. He is new to the area and is looking forward to having fun exploring the local shops, scenery, events, restaurants, etc. This position is not only about caregiving - it's about developing a genuine relationship.

Jewish community engagement is also an important part of the weekly planning. Our client is interested in participating in Jewish activities and social events in the community.

Education / Experience (Caregiver)

• High School diploma or GED.
• Must have at least one year experience supporting persons with disabilities.
• At least two years of experience as a Caregiver.

Qualifications (Caregiver / Driver)

• 21+ years of age
• Ability to pass a background and drug test (DOJ / FBI / DMV)
• A valid driver's license, and proof of vehicle insurance coverage
• Proficient in basic safety and emergency techniques (CPR / First Aid Certified)
• Knowledge of Jewish traditions and culture helpful (not required)
