Community Service Representative (Part-Time) Job at California Coast Credit
*This is a part-time position (25 hours per week)*
Under the general guidance of the Manager, Public Relations & Community Partnerships, this position supports the credit union’s Community Relations and Business Development departments, as well as the Cal Coast Cares Foundation, by assisting in the planning, coordination and participation of community outreach and events, contributing to social media efforts, and performing administrative duties.
DIMENSIONS:
- Supports member service and sales for 25 branches and call center.
- Influences the perceived value and quality of $3.3 billon brand (organization).
- Supports efforts to coordinate, plan and represent the credit union in the community at CR, BD and Foundation events, financial education workshops and related events as needed.
- Supports the Cal Coast Cares Foundation, including administrative functions, database management, and communications.
Supervisory responsibilities
- This position reports directly to the Manager, Public Relations & Community Partnerships. There are no direct reports to this position.
NATURE & SCOPE
- Works community outreach events including tabling and distribution of marketing materials to attendees.
- Supports and participates in the planning, coordination and execution of community relations efforts, Cal Coast Cares Program and Cal Coast Cares Foundation activities and events.
- Interacts with virtual/in-person event attendees to promote the credit union, its products and services, and the event activities.
- Implements event plans and participates in event staging including equipment set-up, tear-down and communication with branches and related departments.
- Supports the Cal Coast Cares Foundation, including administrative functions, database management and communications.
- Provides insight, ideas and recommendations regarding increasing credit union exposure and membership.
- Provides timely social media messages and photos to Cal Coast social media team, which represent events in a positive and professional manner.
- Assists in department’s public relations efforts including branch grand openings, special virtual/in-person events, educational and community involvement activities.
- Performs other relevant and related duties as required.

Other Education, Skills, and Abilities
- Two years of college preferred. Individual can be a current college student pursuing an undergraduate degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications or related discipline.
- Some experience preferred in database management, administrative tasks, business development, community relations and/or customer service.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Public speaking experience preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong computer and technology skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with members and the public, all levels of staff, management and external business contacts.
- Ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
- Ability to operate standard business machines such as computer, printer, fax, copier and telephonic devices. Must be comfortable using a smart phone and taking and posting pictures to social media.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a “clean” driving record with the CA Department of Motor Vehicles.
- Some experience using ZOOM or other video conference/ virtual meeting software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Excellent ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing; ability to tolerate periods of continuous standing or sitting. Must be able to drive to and from community events, colleges and other locations. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Subject to standard background noise found in or out of an office environment and during travel time, subject to variable weather and traffic conditions.
Salary Range (Hourly)
$19.7399 (min) - $29.6099 (max)
