Community Mobilizer Job at CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort)
The Community Mobilizer will work with formal and informal community leaders, influencers, and community-based organizations (CBO) to implement a multi-layered engagement strategy that solicits feedback from community members and subject matter experts alike to drive the violence reduction strategy across the City and from the ground up. CORE staff will be working directly in communities to address the issues in their built environment and help them gain access to key social services and resources.
Responsibilities
- Develop relationships with key community leaders and influencers, including churches, local businesses, neighborhood associations, and organizations to learn and address the needs of each community
- Collaborate with the City of Chicago to develop block level plans and be the person on the ground to address community concerns
- Assist in planning community wide activities, such as throwing block parties and canvassing for upcoming community events
- Disseminate vital information to the community regarding services provided by local CBOs and community leaders
- Work closely with CBOs and community leads on special projects assigned
- Dual Reporting line to the Community Engagement Manager at CSCC and the CORE Chicago Area Manager
