Cold Heading Machine Operator

Salary: $30 - $40 depending on experience

Exciting full-time career opportunities for a Cold Heading Machine Operator that will report to the Heading Line Lead in Buckeye, AZ.

We are a leading manufacturer of socket head cap screws. Founded in 2012, our company has been a fast growing supplier of top-quality components for industrial, military, medical, aerospace, and commercial applications.

Our Cold Heading Machine Operator will safely set up and operate various cold forming machines (National, Waterbury, Hartford, Single die, Multi-die etc). Receive feedback and direction from our line leader and Plant Manager. Replace worn and broken tooling and make machine adjustments and inspect parts. Detect and report faulty machine operation will having the responsibility of ensuring quality in all goods produced by our company.

Duties may include studying blueprints, conducting research and analysis, analyzing parts, and ensuring proper measurements are taken to ensure products meet customer expectations and company standards.

General Skill set

• Setup and operate a variety of cold heading machines to produce quality products of any complexity
• Plan and perform close tolerance setups with little or no assistance
• Setup repetitive jobs requiring close tolerance
• Select feeds, speeds, cams, tooling, etc. for most economical production rate of the machine
• Use scales, micrometers, dial indicators and fixed gages to check and gage work
• Adapt or modify tooling to meet gage work
• Lubricate and adjust or repairs to maintain equipment
• Acid etch samples from machine using microscope to check for non-conformance
• Starts machine, observes operation, and inspects first run and sample work piece to ensure machining conforms to specifications
• Review the work and assist other operators as necessary to ensure proper work instructions and quality procedures are being followed
• Work with engineering and/or maintenance to resolve specific machine, tooling, setup problems that may arise

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• * At least five (5) years’ experience using a computer*
• Good organization skills
• Ability to clearly read/listen and understand work instructions
• Ability to work well in time-sensitive situations
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Team-oriented operating style with effective interpersonal skills that allow successful interactions with individuals of a variety of work styles, personalities, and career levels
• Ability to move and handle merchandise weighing 1 oz - 35 pounds
• Possibility of prolonged standing, with bending and stooping
• Catch, question, and evaluate every process that you are impacted by and assist fellow departments when necessary
