CNC Lathe and Mill Machinists - 2nd & 3rd shift Job at Precision Aero Inc

Position Summary:
We are hiring an experienced CNC Lathe & Mill Machinists with experience for our first and second shifts to help with our growing needs. You will be working closely with office and shop personnel, and will be reporting to the Production Manager. Second shift hours are 4:00 pm – 2:30 am Monday – Friday, also the occasional Saturday.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
- Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
- Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
- Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
- Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
- Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred, but not required
- Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (mills, lathes, grinders etc.)
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers, micrometer, bore gages, thread gages) to take accurate measurements
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Knowledge of metal properties
- Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
- Positive and professional attitude
- Available to work weekends and overtime as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
