Ashland Golf Club is now accepting resumes for the position of General Manager. Founded in 1968, the club has very rich history in the Nebraska golf community. Ashland Golf Club was recently recognized as the Facility of the Year in the Nebraska PGA section for the 2017 season. The Position:
The General Manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of the course including its activities and the relationships between the course and its customers, employees, and community as well as frequent communication with the owner. The General Manager will direct the work of all department managers, implement and monitor the budget, monitor the quality of the clubs products and services, as well as ensuring maximum member and guest satisfaction. The General Manager will ensure that a dedicated team of professionals is in place to effectively execute the facilities business plan, and hold them accountable to meet defined operating standards, measure and achieve a high level of guest satisfaction, while achieving the stated financial objectives of the facility. The General Manager will work closely with the Regional Operations Manager to continue implementing initiatives and processes set forth by Landscapes Golf Management.


Job Description:

  • The GM will report directly to the Regional Manager. The GM will be responsible for all staff, operations, programming, finances, facilities and department operations including annual and monthly budgets.
  • Hire, manage and develop the course s department heads, and meet with them independently or collectively on a regular basis.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet Butler's GC goals and objectives. Develop and institute new as well as existing programming that will encourage continued guest participation at the facility and attract new business of all types.
  • The GM will be required to operate the facility in a fiscally responsible manner. This would include ensuring that the budgets, as adopted by the management company and the ownership group, are adhered to and the ability to present monthly financial reports to the board while effectively explaining variances if and when they occur.
  • Consistently ensures that the facility is operated in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal laws.
  • Develop, maintain and disseminate a fundamental management philosophy to guide all club personnel toward optimal results, employee morale and guest satisfaction.
  • Supervise pro shop personnel / direct daily operation of the pro shop & merchandise
  • Aid in the supervision of both F&B and Grounds Departments through Department Heads.
  • Serve as the community liaison for the facility. Meet with special interest groups to positively impact growth in daily fee play, and event business.
  • Develop a facility marketing plan and oversee the implementation of the plan on annual basis. This plan should include a firm grasp of email marketing and social media outlets that benefit the growth of the facility.
  • Consistently demonstrate high level of visibility at the appropriate times to ensure guest and owner satisfaction, always projecting a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work with and attend all pertinent meetings as it relates to the management company and the operation of business.
  • Work with the Regional Operations Manager of Landscapes Golf Management to ensure strategic initiatives are being fostered and implemented.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • A bachelor s degree in Business Management, Hospitality, or other related field is preferred
  • Experience as a Manager or equivalent supervisory position is preferred
  • Class -A- PGA Member in good standing preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and an eye for detail
  • A proven track record of high customer satisfaction, accompanied by a consistently strong financial performance throughout the course
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills (e.g. friendly, outgoing, confident, and enthusiastically cultivating positive relationships with guests, daily fee players, events, and staff)

Compensation:

The course has put together a compensation package that will be commensurate with the successful candidate s experience level and well within national averages for similar facilities. The compensation package will be comprised of an annual salary DOE plus bonus potential. In addition, the General Manager will participate in Landscapes Golf Management's benefit program, which will include medical, dental, vacation and 401K.
