Qualifications

· 10+ years hands-on performance engineering experience

Job description

As part of a Global Analytics and Optimization team delivering AIOPS, observability, event management, data

center automation and automation products with a cloud native approach. Seeking a hands-on Infrastructure

and Solution Performance Engineer/consultant for Cloud Solutions and Performance Benchmarks. Lead

contributor in optimizing and improving performance of AXA XL’s infrastructure and application portfolio.

Key Responsibilities of this role are:

· Identify and analyze performance across compute, I/O, storage, and efficiency metrics for all of AXA XL

· services and server instances.

· Champion the optimization of application workloads by working with stakeholders for best practices and

· running on the efficiently configured AXA XL infrastructure in the cloud.

· Optimize performance of various software components like operating systems, containers, databases,

· analytics and other applications in the cloud.

· Drive operational efficiencies and optimize mean-time-to-root-cause (MTRC) across all hosting modes

· through comprehensive analytics, continuous improvement, and effective solutions.

· Perform in-depth analysis using performance profiling tools to identify hotspots and optimization

· opportunities to improve overall product performance.

· Provide technical consulting and mentoring to team members/development teams on optimization

· techniques, new algorithm design, implementation, and conformance to architecture standards.

· Modernize and improve application and infrastructure monitoring with cloud native approaches and focus

· on application behaviors that drive business value.

· Work with engineers/developers across the company to optimize for current and emerging cloud platform

· technologies. Participate in various design authority workshops.

· Provide AIOPS and Monitoring as a Service for applications, cloud and data center platforms, and usage

· analytics - while incorporating automation to deliver autonomous services accessible to automated

· application lifecycles.

· Promote and contribute to a modern CMDB Model to drive autonomous cloud operations

· Develop dashboards using analytics tools (e.g. PowerBI) to gain data insights and enable data-driven

· decisions.

· Ensure that industry standards for Security and Data Privacy are incorporated into designs and operational

· procedures and governance.

· Identify opportunities to drive synergies between monitoring, logging, and security platforms to support

· DevSecOps.

· Provision of reporting and analytics in support of IT Operations Management (ITOM), IT Asset Management

· (ITAM) and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, e.g. obsolescence management, asset management

· and digital sustainability.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

· 10+ years hands-on performance engineering experience.

· Strong problem-solving skills are desirable, as the candidates will be involved in solving complex

· performance issues encountered while building world class Azure Cloud solutions.

· Extensive knowledge of Observability, Event Management and AIOPS principles.

· Knowledge of ITIL processes and sub processes, and how to apply these in practice.

Education: MS or BS in Engineering or Computer Science

Technical capabilities:

· Technical monitoring principles (Observability, SRE requirements).

· Hands-on working knowledge of System technologies – Windows/Linux, Docker, Virtualization, Compute,

· Networking and Storage.

· Experience with Infrastructure and Application technologies.

· Solid understanding of OS, VM, and systems concepts like process management, memory management, file

· systems, networking, block storage devices, etc.

· Hands-on experience with performance tuning of Azure cloud platform environment.

· BI reporting – experience with importing and transforming data; experience working with REST APIs as a

· data source automation.

· Ability to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks at the code level in C++, Java, and related

· languages.

· Solid understanding of database management systems. • General application architectures. • Cloud

· technologies and architecture.

· Broad Infrastructure knowledge. Product Knowledge Requirements:

· APM technologies (Dynatrace, Aternity, Azure Monitor/Application Insights etc.)

· Data reporting and Analytics tools – PowerBI

· ITSM products - ServiceNow

· Cloud services (Azure preferred) – AWS is a plus.

· Monitoring tools (Microfocus, Solarwinds, etc.)

· HTML, Javascript, SQL, .Net, Java
