Micro-Tech Endoscopy is a rapidly growing GI Endoscopy medical device sales company. We seek a Clinical Support Specialist to cover our Eastern sales region, traveling up to 60% to support medical device sales reps in their territories.

Ideal candidates will have at least 3 years of demonstrated excellence in a clinical role such as Nurse, Surgical Tech, etc. Candidates must have GI Endoscopy experience, and must have experience in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy procedures such as EUS; EMR; ERCP, POEM. Our Clinical Support Specialist provide critical field/remote clinical, technical, and educational support to assigned accounts. Work is driven by customer demand and planned coverage in conjunction with Sales Representatives. The primary focus is case support and using clinical expertise to influence customers’ usage of Micro-Tech’s full portfolio.

The majority of your time will be spent traveling within your designated territory, supporting the Sales Representatives and assisting with critical activities leading to sales conversions. Position Responsibilities:

  • Become a subject matter expert quickly and continue to deepen product knowledge over time.
  • Represent our company ethically in all business dealings, and according to company policies.
  • Initiate and build strong relationships with external and internal clients through routine visits, product demonstrations, educational programs, product in-services, procedural observation, and problem resolution.
  • Serve as the primary resource for Sales Representatives: Support development of a successful sales territory of new and existing accounts in the territory; assist the sales team in the promotion and sale of product lines within that defined territory.
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using a wide variety of formats and platforms to keep all customers abreast of the latest product, therapy, technology developments and current items of interest in the industry.
  • Educate, support and train customers through phone consultation, training programs, written correspondence and general field assistance.
  • Attend cases in the operating room of hospital and surgery center accounts.
  • Participate in cases and surgical/clinical observation by working with ambulatory surgery center medical staff.
  • Meet with existing and potential clients by traveling to their location to identify clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and to discuss and demonstrate how company products can help to achieve their goals.
  • Develop relationships with clinical personnel to establish contacts in other departments; identify key purchasing decision makers in order to support future sales.
  • Prepare detailed weekly reporting of activity within the territory.
  • Developing relationships with Micro-Tech Endoscopy sales and clinical staff to support their future sales achievements.
  • Respond to customer needs regarding products and services.
  • Occasional weekend and evening trade show and/or meeting participation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidates must be located in Providence, RI or within extremely close geographic proximity to the city.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Biology, or other Science field
  • Candidate must be based out of the Providence area and willing to travel 50-60% of the time.
  • 3+ years’ demonstrated experience providing clinical support for GI medical devices in a procedure or Operating Room setting.
  • 3+ years’ experience in GI/Endoscopy clinical procedures.
  • 3+ years’ experience in advanced procedures such as ESD, EUS, ERCP and POEM.
  • Experience as RN, Surgical Tech or similar is required.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate effectively, both individually and in a group setting.
  • Ability to adjust communication style or approach, depending on the audience.
  • Ability to provide training and support in a calm, effective, and patient manner.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited direct supervision.
  • Ensures team success by being approachable and positive.
  • Highly professional demeanor.
  • Willingness to develop and perform within the MTU culture.
  • Documented success in building relationships.

Essential functions of the job. Ability to:

  • Sustain lengthy conversations.
  • Adjust conversation style to accommodate diverse audiences.
  • Travel locally and visit multiple locations (both new and existing accounts) within designated territory with high frequency.
  • Engage in logical reasoning, interpreting and responding.
  • Physically be present in the GI lab for long periods at a time sometimes with little to no notice.
  • Transport marketing materials and product samples weighing up to 10 lbs.
