POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS - Clinical Supervisor - Mental Health/Substance abuse Program

1. EDUCATION:
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a professional license in Social Services or Mental Health and experience in Behavioral Health Services.
2. EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five years professional / clinical experience in the field of mental health counseling and social work of which a minimum of one year should pertain to the field of partial hospitalization or inpatient psychiatric services.
3. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, LADC I, License in Psychology
4. SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to work as a team member and have management, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible in relation to department needs.
- Knowledge of DCF Standards.

- Initiate appropriate counseling and disciplinary action for infraction of policy in accordance with established policies and procedures.

- Responsible for daily operations of facility.
- Participate in the formulation and implementation of patient treatment plans.
- Evaluate patient care weekly by assessing patients.

- Assist in formulating standards for patients care.
- Design the initial and master treatment plan proposals following the recommendations of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Evaluate the impact of therapeutic interventions upon the therapeutic milieu.
- Supervise all clinical activities, assuring comfort and safety of the patients.
- Attend and lead daily treatment coordination morning meeting.
- Take part in weekly team meetings.
- Attend and lead monthly clinical team meetings.
- Attend monthly mental health tech and nursing meetings.
- Contribute to effective teamwork by combining skills and energies in a coordinated manner, keeping a positive interaction and building a sense of community and high morale within agency.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professional and caring attitudes and behaviors toward co-workers, patients, and guests.
- Supervise all clinical staff members and activities, which include monitor groups, individual therapy, and charting to maintain the highest standard of quality and effectiveness.
- Maintaining the clinical charts and implementing PI / QA corrective action plans so as to ensure documentation compliance.
- Ensure that all services and documentation requirements are delivered within required timeframes including Utilization review needs.
- Supervise Housing & Transportation, Program and Nursing supervisors.
- Provide clinical supervision to all team leaders and clinical staff.
- Organize professional development and training in individual therapy, diagnosis and assessment, group therapy and charting/documentation.
- Interview, hire and manage all staff assigned by organizational chart in accordance with Behavioral Health of the Palm Beaches policy and procedures.
- Maintain records and documentation relative to clinical staff.
- Ensure that clinical staff meets educational/licensure requirements.
- Provide for staff development (i.e., supervision, educational, etc.)
- Complete performance evaluations on time and create/provide growth plans for supervisees.
- Audit medical records weekly, and ensure preparedness for financial, clinical or accreditation audit.
- Provide and coordinate ongoing provision of Clinical On-Call services in addition to being available for off-hours crisis, and other non-crisis and disaster response needs.
- Deliver direct patient services, such as primary therapist, performing individual and group therapist sessions, case management, discharge planning and documentation as needed.
- Participate in creation of annual Training Schedule for all RFI staff.
- Lead Training sessions according to assignments on annual RFI staff Training Schedule.
- Assign duties to staff according to strengths and limitations.
- Work with Executive Director and CCO to arrange professional staff coverage to meet the needs of the organization.
- Develop and implement staff schedule.
- Maintain an effective and efficient daily staffing pattern within budgetary constraints.
- Maintain an effective clinical organizational structure and delegate appropriate authority for completion of assigned responsibilities.
- Interact/Interface with other department supervisors:
- Admissions – ensure appropriate referral and client placement
- Housing & Transportation – ensure proper client treatment/placement and oversee the Mental Health Technician Staff that is under the Housing & Transportation Supervisor’s direction.
- Insurance/Billing and Collections – ensure that client financial obligations are being met.
- Utilization Review – ensure that information provided by clinical and admissions staff to this department is sufficient and complete
- Training – ensure that ongoing training and quality improvement needs are addressed and provided.
- Medical Director and medical services staff – Collaborates with the medical staff to coordinate medical, nursing and medication management services are delivered appropriately and ensure safety and excellence in patient care.
- Maintenance – liaison with maintenance staff as it relates to facility management.
- Facilitate communication with ancillary services and oversees case management services.
- Attend agency meetings including Executive Team meetings as required.
- Communicate appropriate information from meetings, conferences and committees to affected parties.
- Attend clinical and administrative meetings to integrate inter-departmental sharing of information

- Follows Infection Control guidelines at all times.
- Reports personal symptoms of suspected illness or contagious diseases to the Infection Control Nurse
- Maintains a good public relation with the addiction treatment community and associates.
- Demonstrates adherence to accepted ethical and behavioral standards of conduct.
