Bear Valley Community Healthcare District, located in the mountains of Southern California has an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. We are looking for full time and per diem positions.
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) is licensed with the State of California and works under the general technical supervision of the Laboratory Manager. The CLS performs high complexity, moderate complexity, Provider Performed Microscopy, and waived testing as indicated under the 1988 CLIA Amendments and as required by laboratory accrediting agencies. The CLS will ensure laboratory standards and procedures are followed and that hospital objectives, including safety of laboratory personnel are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or other science discipline which meets federal CLIA educational requirements.
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license
- Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited training program in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science
- 2 years of generalist clinical laboratory experience
- Previous hospital clinical laboratory experience
