Lake Huron Medical Center is a 144-bed community hospital that provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient health care services to residents of St. Clair and Sanilac counties including emergency services, cancer and comprehensive breast care, bariatric surgery, physical therapy and rehabilitation services, pulmonary rehabilitation, and specialized diabetes programs.

The Lake Huron Foundation is an extension of the Prime Healthcare Foundation, a 501(c)3 public charity. The Foundation is governed by a local board of directors which provides oversight to our day-to-day operations and financial assets, and funds remain local. Responsibilities:
Under general supervision of the Lake Huron Foundation Director, this position coordinates the daily operations of the People’s Clinic for Better Health. Should be able to understand and follow instructions on department policies and procedures. Be able to develop a working knowledge of medical staff credentialing process as well as assisting with medical staff meeting preparations. This individual will research grant opportunities and write grant proposals. Collaborate with community agencies and participate in community outreach and events. Assist in meeting the day-to-day needs of the Medical Staff Office. Key working relationships are Medical Staff, Hospital Management, department staff, community partners, patients, visitors and vendors.
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience
  • Associate Degree in medical office management or related field desired.
  • Registered or certified medical assistant preferred.
  • Equivalent level of knowledge and experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Third party reimbursement knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Customer service oriented.
