Job Summary
Lead Circles of Support Social Asset Programming that promotes relationship development, social emotional growth and individual empowerment. Model an inspiring, non-judgmental, and emotionally safe atmosphere by engaging one on one with members and leading group discussions and recreational activities that promote fun social interaction, intellectual growth, and mission related learning. Design and oversee program activities, service delivery, meeting facilitation, food related supplies, and logistical details. Communicate consistently with group members to maximize attendance. Manage Food Pantry ordering, stocking and inventory. Manage, track, and prepare reports for all program activities and outcomes. Plan and implement marketing, outreach and recruitment efforts through local partners and organizations that strengthen and enhance Social Asset programming. Promote and maintain KOOTASCA’s branding efforts in public narrative and work products. Collaborate in serving the public at the Circles of Support office location, and serve as part of a team to implement community engagement programming. This position requires exemplary people skills, compassion for people in poverty, and enthusiasm for social justice for low-income people.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent knowledge base gained through lived experience or through formal schooling, independent study, short courses or other applicable arrangement.
- Recent completion of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) process or willingness to obtain through the Agency. Minimum: High School Diploma and additional training
- Cerficiation in First Aid & CPR, or willingness to attain through Agency.
- A combination of minimum of education requirements and 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience in group facilitation, inspirational communication, behavior
- Experience navigating respectful and productive conversations amidst opposing viewpoints and heightened emotions.
- Experience in working with people in poverty, mental illness, chemical dependency and in accepting people from multi-cultural and diverse family backgrounds.

- BCA Background Study
- Valid Driver’s License or access to reliable transportation
- MVR Approval for use of agency vehicles
Schedule/Location
- 40 Hours/Week and 12 Months/Year
- Daytime weekday shift- no nights, weekends, or holiday shifts.
- Grand Rapids, MN
Compensation
- Entry Wage of $20.05/hour.
- Wage Scale of $20.05 to $29.09/hour.
