Full-time Parent Educator (Bilingual) $500 Signing Bonus

Position Details

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of the Born Learning project from recruitment of at least 35 qualified families to achievement of their individual goals.

  • Develops, reviews, and implements an individualized plan for each participating family and child, and purchases the necessary materials in support of the family needs to achieve their goals.

  • Attends Parents as Teachers Born to Learn training and become a certified Parents-as-Teachers Parent Educator.

  • Attends all follow up sessions as required.

  • Responsible for visiting each family at least monthly in their home at a time convenient for the family including evenings and weekends.

  • Provides on-going technical assistance and assesses the progress of each participating family toward reaching their goals.

  • Ensures all screenings, developmental and physical, are conducted in a timely manner and according to the specifications of the grant.

  • Coordinates and attends group training sessions.

  • Networks with all social services agencies in the catchment area to attain knowledge of available services in order to refer families to all appropriate agencies.

  • Maintain current agency information in a database.

  • Refers families to any and all appropriate social service agencies and ensures follow up.

  • Responsible for working individually and as a member of a team to meet the requirements of the funder.

  • Responsible for generating accurate and timely reports for the funder, including but not limited to: group training information, home visits, referrals, progress reports, vignettes, success stories and any other requested information.

  • Prepares materials for special reports, newsletters, and parent or provider educational materials as requested.

  • Consistently brings all complaints or concerns by clients, providers, and others to the immediate attention of the Home-Based Program Manager.

  • Represents the agency at workshops, conferences, and other events, and participates in staff development activities as assigned.

  • Keeps abreast of current child development issues and shares information and resources with parents.

  • Position requires working during non-traditional working hours including evenings and weekends on a regular basis

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bilingual- English and Spanish required

  • AA or Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood, Parent Education or closely related field or equivalent, required

  • Five years’ work experience in childcare required

  • Good working knowledge of social service agencies and resources available throughout North Texas

  • Excellent telephone and communication skills required

  • Mu to work well under pressure and meet deadlines as required

  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently as well as in the framework of a team

  • Competence in data processing, word processing and spreadsheet applications required

  • Regular and prompt attendance required


Travel and Compliance Requirements

  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license

  • Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements

  • Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation

  • Ability to travel locally or out of town as required

  • Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable

  • Must successfully meet all compliance background check requirements for federal funding throughout employment

  • CCG is following the COVID vaccine requirements that have been issued by the Office of Head Start. All employees working in the Head Start or Early Head Start programs must be fully vaccinated by January 1, 2022.
