POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This individual manages the CYF childcare referral and intake process of foster care families that require childcare services. The Childcare Program Specialist supports caseworkers and or families in selection of a child care provider and manages the process for enrollment. This work requires a high degree of confidentiality. The position reports directly to the Childcare Supervisor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*

• Receive and process requests for childcare for from CYF and Foster Care Caseworkers.
• Assist CYF and Foster Care Caseworkers with selection of an early care and education provider and provides education and support.
• Engage childcare providers, Caseworkers and Caregivers to provide documentation for authorization of childcare.
• Provide explanation of the authorization process to childcare provider and casework staff.
• Plan, organize, process and manage childcare authorization process to ensure timely enrollment.
• Perform all business process steps to ensure all parties are aware of childcare authorization.
• Utilize shared spreadsheet, folders.
• Responsible for the maintenance of CYF childcare inbox and KIDS approval box.
• Complete all required training and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Attend and participate in team meetings, staff meetings, internal and external trainings.
• Maintain expected level of productivity.
• Perform related work as required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Excellent customer service skills including the ability to interact positively and professionally with persons from all cultures and backgrounds.
• Knowledge of customer service ethics, principles, and procedures.
• Ability to manage email and navigate the internet.
• Excellent computer skills, including data entry.
• Ability to manage large amounts of data in a timely manner.
• Skilled in active listening and problem-solving.
• Ability to maintain records and documents in an accurate and orderly manner according to agency policies and procedures.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff within CYF, The Alliance for Infants and Toddlers, and the ELRC. As well as other stakeholders and providers.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Have Acts 33, 34, and FBI clearances.
• Ability to travel for meetings, trainings, and other miscellaneous work assignments.
• Possess a reliable motor vehicle and a valid PA motor vehicle license.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree required in Social Services field and one year or more of related experience.
