Position Summary: The Child & Family Services Therapist offers children, adolescents, and families referred to CornerHouse person-centered, trauma-informed, holistic therapy services in individual, group, and family therapy modalities. The Child & Family Services Therapist works as a part of a multidisciplinary team that provides alleged victims of abuse/witnesses to violent crime, and their caregivers, services that are attuned to the complex needs of traumatized clients. Alongside direct work with the child, the therapist provides psychoeducation and support to non-offending caregivers in order to enhance their capacity to support their child’s needs. The Child & Family Services Therapist works collaboratively with community partners to assess and meet the stated needs of the CornerHouse service population.

Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centered, trauma-informed, holistic victim/survivor/witness care to families referred to CornerHouse for therapy services.
  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy services to children, adolescents, and caregivers using individual, group, and/or family modality.
  • Practice trauma therapy interventions, focusing on those for youth ages 4-17.
  • Maintain client records and files consistent with Cornerhouse policy and practice as well as governing regulatory bodies.
  • Complete all job duties and caseload requirements as assigned.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary/ team consultation meetings once per week and other clinical and administrative meetings, as required.
  • Effectively coordinate care across disciplines for the provision of quality services.
  • Observe legal, ethical and professional conduct practices as mandated by their profession as well as local, state and federal standards and laws.
  • Receive bi-weekly reflective supervision, independent of licensure, to privilege reflection on use of self, secondary trauma/vicarious trauma, multi-cultural practice, professional development, and case consultation.

Program Implementation/Other Duties:

  • Function as a professional and effective liaison and representative of CornerHouse with the agency’s multiple partners and constituencies.
  • Support and engage in effective and thoughtful program development at agency.
  • Work to increase knowledge and effectiveness of family work with multi-cultural populations and engage in thoughtful anti-racist and anti-oppressive practice.
  • Work to increase knowledge of trauma-informed, person-centered intervention for families who have experienced trauma and violence.
  • Expand knowledge through reading, research, and workshops/trainings including a minimum of 4 annual hours of continuing education on victim support services.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement by seeking feedback of supervisor, colleagues, and clients, and using survey outcomes to impact decision-making.
  • Aid with program evaluation and integrate findings into practice.

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Masters degree required in social work or related profession with related licensure (LICSW, LGSW, LPC, LPCC, LP, LMFT, LAMFT).
  • Knowledge of multi-cultural practice, child sexual abuse, family dynamics, child development, investigative and/or judicial systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.
  • Intersectional lens, cultural humility, and awareness of own areas of privilege.
  • Knowledge of issues and resources for a community mental health population.
  • Team player, self-starter.
  • Computer proficiency, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to learn and utilize database systems.
  • Knowledge of documentation requirements for third-party payor billing.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience working with culturally, ethnically, developmentally, and socio-economically diverse individuals.
  • Experience working with crime victims and/or persons in crisis.
  • Experience working with child protection, law enforcement, court systems and related community services.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
  • Experience with clinical supervision.
  • Experience providing clinical services to a community mental health population.
  • Presentation and training skills.
  • Experience working within a multi-disciplinary clinical treatment team framework.
  • Post-degree training in trauma treatment modalities is a preferred asset.

Hours & Compensation: Full-Time (1 FTE or 40 hours/week), exempt position. Annual compensation range of $55,000-$65,000 based on qualifications and experience. Competitive benefits package including generous PTO (8 hours per pay period) plus 11 holidays, health insurance, and 401k.
