Function:
Under the direction of the Director, Extended Day Treatment, and the supervision of the Extended Day Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor, participates in the implementation of plans for the care, treatment and rehabilitation of children and adolescents to meet the philosophical and treatment objectives of the program and agency.

Use of capabilities: (illustrated by typical activities)
1) Serves as primary childcare worker to assigned clients. Participate in the development of individual treatment plans for those clients and facilitates implementation of the plans.
2) Maintains familiarity with and implements approved individual treatment plans and programs for all clients; assists as requested in the development of modification of programs. Consults with other staff to assure consistency and continuity of individual treatment programs.
3) Fosters a stable and therapeutic environment by maintaining the values and principles of the Extended Day Treatment Program and the agency client rights statement. Interacts with clients in a manner marked by a controlled, non-judgmental tone of voice and body language, promoting individual responsibility and self-esteem. Implements treatment plans, behavioral level system, and other means of structure in a therapeutic, caring and respectful manner. Fosters a positive, communicative environment for client families, guardians, and representatives.
4) Fosters the development of meaningful group and individual relationships within the program among both clients and staff.
5) Provides a variety of services to clients, including transportation, assistance and instruction in hygiene, assistance in the development of daily living skills and maintenance of other personal needs. Assists in the teaching and development of life skills in clients. Assists in the development of treatment and training programs in these areas.
6) Participates as assigned in program and clinical meetings concerning the status of clients and treatment programs; provides information and incorporates feedback as appropriate.
7) Consults with Psychotherapist, and other services staff, in review of client programs and problems; suggests intervention and program modifications as appropriate.
8) Prepares and maintains records, files, and reports as required.
9) Participates in and/or plans recreational activities both on and off campus. This participation includes motivation of clients, hobby and skills instruction and support, and the fostering of a positive, enthusiastic, and therapeutic play environment.
10) Participates in supervisory sessions with the Extended Day Supervisor or the Director of Extended Day Treatment as assigned. Openly elicits and incorporates feedback.
11) Attends and participates in agency and program training as assigned.
12) Fosters positive, professional relationships with co-workers, interdepartmental personnel, and support staff. Presents as a positive representative of the agency when involved with the community.
13) Participates in the maintenance of a safe, clean, secure, and orderly environment. Reports unsafe or unhealthy situations to a supervisor and to maintenance personnel. Ensures the safety of clients by properly following emergency procedures and maintaining required trainings and certifications.
14) Follows all agency and departmental policies and procedures.
15) Assists in orienting new staff members as assigned.
16) Accepts leadership role during shifts in which no manager is on-site. Aspects of leadership include fostering communication, maintaining calm presence during crisis situations, assuring consistency of programming, and obtaining assistance (e.g. implement on-call system) as needed.
17) Provides transportation for clients, to and from the program as assigned.
18) Participates in physical intervention of clients as required in a manner consistent with policy and procedures. Obtains and maintains appropriate training certification.
Use of capabilities is characterized by sensitivity to and appreciation of the needs and feelings of the clients assigned to the Extended Day Treatment Program; and by sound judgment in the implementation of treatment programs.

Education/Experience/Other Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree and 2-4 years in a clinical treatment program setting preferred. Maintain certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and CPR/First Aid/AED. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour
