Cheshire Medical Center, part of the Dartmouth Health system, is seeking its next Chair of Specialty Medicine. This role reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and provides oversight for the following areas:
- Cardiology
- Dermatology
- Endocrinology
- Gastroenterology
- Infectious Disease
- Nephrology
- Neurology
- Pain Medicine
- Palliative Care
- Radiology
- Rheumatology
The Chair of Specialty Medicine can practice in any of the above listed specialties and will work 0.4 FTE administratively and 0.6 FTE clinically.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be board certified in their area of practice and must be able to obtain/maintain medical licensure in the state of New Hampshire. Prior leadership experience is required, and we are seeking candidates who demonstrate a focus on quality improvement efforts.

Responsibilities of this Chair role include:
- Writing and reviewing policies, procedures, and protocols
- Occurrence report and patient grievance report management
- Quality assessment and quality metric oversight
- Participation in the recruiting, credentialing, and onboarding new providers
- Oversight of OPPE/FPPE/corrective action plans for providers
- Case reviews and peer reviews
- Yearly evaluations of overseen providers
- Provider scheduling (clinic and call)
- Schedule template optimization
- Budgeting responsibilities in partnership with the Operations team
- Performance improvement initiatives

It is a 240 physician and advanced practice provider, multi-specialty community practice and a division of the Dartmouth–Hitchcock Clinic based in Lebanon, NH.
