The Coastal Georgia lndicators Coalition (CGIC) is a group of community members working together through a comprehensive approach for planning and accountability. Our goal is to improve community well-being by engaging and leading the public, civic, and private sectors to work collectively in development of strategic priorities that guide policy, systems, environment, programs, and resource allocation. CGIC is a neutral convener, houses over 200 community level indicators, supports partners strategic planning, provides training in evaluation, research and grant writing. CGIC is located in beautiful downtown Savannah, Georgia on Oglethorpe Square near the riverfront. The Program Development and Community Outreach VISTA will create, document, and implement new projects or systems to increase the number of individuals and families served through the Resilient Coastal GA and Early Literacy and Language Initiatives. This will include developing plans to engage organizations serving children and families including veterans at the community level. Working with and supporting work teams in the collective impact frameworks implementing strategies and reporting activities. As the AmeriCorps member, you will support Development and Community Outreach for the Resilient Coastal Georgia and Early Literacy and Language initiatives to a wider audience and increasing the community's access to initiatives. The VISTA will: Research related programs, procedures, and resources that are currently in place to identify best practices and any additional needs the projects require; Document research and communicate findings to move forward with developing a new or enhanced project or system and Development based on the information gathered, determine the scope, goals, objectives, timeline and milestones for a project or system that addresses the needs of the Resilient Coastal Ga and Early Literacy and Language initiatives.

Member Duties: The Project Development VISTA and Community Outreach Coordinator will: Research best practices, systems, resources and examples of similar projects at other organizations, including other Early Literacy initiatives and Resilient Georgia Communities. Work with evaluation team to develop systems to accurately track and record project-related information and data, focused on ensuring sustainability including evaluation tools that will assist in projecting and assessing impact. Develop new projects or systems that will increase the number of individuals and families served. Develop methods to increase participation with projects, including presentations, materials and systems for recruitment of partners, volunteers and leadership. Collect feedback on pilot programs and make necessary modifications. Activities may include direct service for the purposes of observation, interviews of staff and volunteers and implementation of systems and processes.
