Medical Assistant Job Summary:
Perform a variety of medically related and administrative tasks by assisting physicians in clinics in providing direct patient care. Administrative tasks may include answering phones, scheduling, and admitting patients, and assisting with insurance forms and verification. Medically related tasks may include checking vitals, updating medical histories, asking about symptoms, answering basic questions, and explaining diagnoses and treatment plans. Also performs basic diagnostic laboratory procedures such as taking blood, urine, and other bodily fluid samples, giving injections, assisting with limited radiology services, and cleaning and sterilizing equipment.
Medical Assistant Duties, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Ability to comprehend established office routines and policies.
- Typing, phones and basic office equipment
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records
- Working knowledge of benefits, calculating co-pays, and deductibles
- Ortho/Pain Management experience
- Phlebotomy/X-Ray/Injections experience
- Bilingual Preferred
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma
- Experience: Previous experience in Pain Management or administering injections required. Customer service skills/experience.
License/Certifications:
- Certified Medical Administration Assistant (CMAA) through an accredited (CAAHEP or ABHES) program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS)

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
