CDL Class B Roll Off Driver - Night shift Job at Cedar Grove Composting

Cedar Grove is looking for CDL drivers to safely and efficiently operate our Roll Off Refuse Truck and other trucks and equipment as needed. Our Roll Off drivers have a set daily route and are responsible for unloading and delivering customer dumpsters and bins. This is a union position with benefits from Teamsters 174. We are currently offering a hiring bonus of $2000 paid over the course of your first year of employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIES:
- Operating Class B equipment safely and efficiently while driving a set route on a daily basis in all seasons and all weather conditions.
- Perform pre-trip inspections and complete log before operating vehicle.
- Interact with customers and public in a professional, courteous manner.
- Emptying customer containers and bins (recycling, including food waste).
- Deliver waste to the facility for processing as needed.
- Maintaining daily customer billing paperwork.
- Maintaining the containers and bins and make replacement recommendations.
- Checking each account for, how full the container is for sales.
- Other duties as required
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated and ability to work without supervision.
- Ability to work with public in professional manner.
- Flexible work schedule due to seasonal demands.
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION:
- CDL “B” Class
- DOT Medical card
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit, stand, walk and climb in and out of trucks up to 8+ hours per day. Answer and talk on telephone, email on occasion and work with the computer system. Drive Class B equipment safely! Also, be able to open and close heavy steel container doors.
