Location Description:
Hopkins, MN is home to our Michael Foods, Inc. corporate headquarters. Hopkins is located 7 miles west of Minneapolis, boasting natural surroundings in a suburban environment that also provides quick access to major travel ways and local restaurants that give our community a distinct character. Located in the Excelsior Crossing building where employees are provided with beautifully landscaped walking paths and water features creating an optimal environment for outdoor and walking meetings, along with the opportunity to take a relaxing walk or outdoor lunch before, within, or after your work day.
Responsibilities:
  • This role is largely a remote work environment but does require occasional onsite presence at our Hopkins, MN corporate site.

The Associate Category Insights Manager is responsible for supporting the larger marketing and sales organization in the development of growth opportunities and strategies for targeted business segments as well as specific customers. The Associate Category Insights Manager will be responsible for maintaining customer databases as well as analyzing them on a monthly and quarterly basis to proactive offer changes to business strategies to meet agreed to growth targets as well as manage larger industry databases and reporting, and execute category and market analysis.
  • Serve as the expert on the use of syndicated data to assist Marketing and Sales leads with making well informed decisions from actionable insights
  • Generate weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting to provide insights, identify opportunities and deliver solutions that drive category and segment growth
  • Manage and maintain ongoing relationships with Vendor Insights Partners, Marketing and Sales leads and other cross-functional partners
  • Develop analysis and insights that highlight category assortment opportunities at the regional and national levels
  • Develop Category Management relationships with customers that establish Michael Foods as the go-to resource for Category Management insights and business process best practices
  • Utilize data, insights, and organized sales stories into presentations for Marketing and Sales leads, providing recommendations for business improvement/growth
  • Assume the Lead Role as part of the Sales Team in presenting insights, strategies, planning and development of category growth plans to specific customers
  • Seek out market data through vendor insights partners to help inform, support, drive product category/segment initiatives and growth opportunities
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 2-4 years of successful experience working in a category analytics or insights
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, organized and adept at multi-tasking
  • Proven analytical skills & ability to successfully integrate different streams of information into a compelling category story
  • High Energy, Self-Starter with excellent written, verbal & presentation communication skills
  • Capable of building strong networks and working relationships to effectively influence internal/external partners at all organizational levels
  • Computer skills required Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel 10-15%
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Experience in consumer insights, shopper insights or marketing is a plus
  • 2-3 years category management experience within Foodservice Industry
  • Familiarity with Circana CREST and SupplyTrack, Nielsen, Technomic, CRC and other Food Industry reporting
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI and Tableau
