Digital Category Strategy Manager

Preferred Location: Newark, NJ

Additional Locations: Chicago, IL / Bentonville, AR / Cincinnati, OH / Minneapolis, MN

The Digital Category Strategy Manager is responsible for managing Category Leadership solutions within the e-commerce channel across the Mars Wrigley Confectionary business. This role is expected to provide fact and insight-based solutions that drive growth for the category, customers, and company. Reports to the Director of Category Leadership & Capabilities as part of the Mars Sales organization.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of experience in FMCG/consumer products with a strong category and shopper insight background

  • Experience in Digital/E-com preferred.

  • Customer experience and understanding of how to develop engaging and actionable category selling stories.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop impactful insights, shopper, and customer solutions to drive category growth.

  • Learning agility to leverage knowledge/expertise to partner with Global to drive cross-market insights sharing.

  • Strong analytical skills translating data to relevant and actionable insights in data sources such as: Nielsen, IRI, Shopper Panel, Numerator etc.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Co-Lead consumer research with CSI (Consumer & Shopper Insights) team including initial scope, RFP, vendor partnership, and internal deployment plans.

  • Plan and create category leadership solutions that deliver profitable sales growth for customers. These should include category insights to unlock the digital shelf (assortment, navigation, search, content, etc.) for both everyday & seasonal.

  • Support execution of initiatives such as PDS (Perfect Digital Store), AIM (Accelerate Impulse Moments) & the overall Digital Strategy for Mars Wrigley.

  • Unlock the Digital Category Vision through development and execution of a robust learning plan, grounded in a deep understanding of Shopper & Customer needs.

  • Translate consumer research and results of field-based Test & Learns into compelling insight-led category solutions to convert more shoppers and transactions to unlock sustainable customer growth.

  • Shape shopper insight learning agenda in collaboration with CSI to drive Digital research investment strategy.

  • Analyze category, shopper, and channel trends to identify opportunities and translate insights to activation solutions.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Global, Digital Center of Acceleration, Shopper Insights, Human Intelligence) to deliver best in class category thought leadership & support ongoing evolution of the Digital Category Strategy

  • Lead evolution of insights narratives, content, and visuals for strategic customer presentations
