SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Guest Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of hotel guest rooms and meeting rooms at all times and assures high quality of the rooms through inspections before and after guest check in/out. The Guest Room Attendant is expected to perform in accordance with the Mission Statement, objectives of the organization, and established policies, procedures, and controls. The Guest Room Attendant’s performance is necessary for the hotel and the casino to reach their full potential in providing a superior experience for hotel and its guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following are major duties and are not intended to be all inclusive or restrictive.
- Responsible for keeping hotel guest rooms and meeting rooms clean.
- Provides clean linens and beddings; cleans guest room restrooms; vacuums rugs; and removes trash; replenishes all items, i.e. shampoo, in the rooms.
- Provides extra linen upon request.
- Perform a meticulous cleaning after the guests check out.
- Answers telephone calls to Housekeeping Department and responds to requests; and performs errands for the hotel.
- Reports damage or missing items in guest rooms to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Distributes linen to designated areas in the hotel in accordance with established par levels in each area.
- Maintain each storage and distribution area in a clean and organized condition.
- Promotes proper sanitation and safety for internal and external guests at all times.
- Implement correct safety procedures.
- Cleans public bathrooms, elevators, stairwells, corridors, lobby and meeting rooms.
- Removes all trash from hotel to outside dumpster.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The physical requirements of this position include but are not limited to lifting, standing, and kneeling, all for long periods of time and on a regular basis, as well as the continuous use of cleaning chemicals. May work alone or closely with others.
Work is performed throughout all areas of the facility where there may be flashing lights and the noise levels vary from quiet to loud depending on the time of day, the specific location, and the amount of business. The Guest Room Attendant must be able and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays and in a smoke-filled environment. The workplace is also under constant surveillance both inside and outside the facility.
The Guest Room Attendant may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve contentious issues with difficult guests and staff members.

Requirements:
EDUCATION AND / or EXPERIENCE:
The qualified candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
If selected for this position, all potential employees are subject to Gaming Commission security clearance and licensing or permit requirements.
