CPSFL has an exciting opportunity for a full-time housing case manager. The Supportive Housing Case Manager will help to provide independent living opportunities and support services to families and adults with a mental health or substance abuse diagnosis. The primary goal is to assist individuals in locating affordable housing with the community taking into account cultural, psychosocial, and economic differences. Individual must be able to assist clients in coordination of services, linking to community resources and possess excellent collaboration skills.
This is a Hybrid position which offers flexibility by allowing for some remote work!
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED SKILLS
- Two years of experience working directly or indirectly with mentally ill individuals or clients with substance abuse background.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related human services field.
- Preferred Bi-Lingual.
- Counseling or Case Management experience and knowledge required.
- The individual must have a valid Florida driver’s license, be able to drive and to provide own transportation.
- This position involves direct interaction with adults, as well as various community agencies, landlords, apartment complexes and resources. Therefore, individual must possess ability to manage caseload efficiently and to build/maintain community relations.
- If required, the individual must clear a background check conducted by the Department of Children and Families in order to serve the population.
- Clients and / or family members may exhibit acting-out behavior and / or poor social skills; therefore, the coordinator must possess excellent verbal escalation techniques.
