Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. The Manager of STEM Tech Career Pathways works closely with the Director of STEM Tech Pathways and Principal Investigators on the administration, implementation, and day-to-day management of the new STEM Tech Academy Grant and the current STEM Starter Academy on behalf of MassBay Community College and Natick High School. The ideal candidate will have experience and enjoy working with high school and college students to recruit and support individuals through a STEM-focused academic dual enrollment STEM career pathway model. They are also comfortable connecting with middle and high school students, families, high school staff/faculty, and college staff/faculty and educating, recruiting, onboarding, and matriculating cohorts of students into the STEM Tech Academy program. The ideal candidate will also work with industry partners, linking the employer and business partners when necessary. They will join a well-established STEM Success Team which includes the Director, Project Coordinator, STEM Career Development Counselor, STEM Academic Advisor and the STEM Mentor Program Manager.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
STEM Tech Academy grant:
- Assist with marketing and recruitment of all incoming 8th-grade cohorts;
- Coordinate college readiness classes, information sessions on career pathways at the high school, career awareness fairs, speaker assemblies, career exploration summer excursions, and parent academies;
- Collect, analyze, and report necessary data and benchmarks to the high school, college, and state as needed;
- Visit and recruit high school students at partner high schools;
- Conduct outreach among diverse student populations including under-represented and first-generation college students, and community organizations;
- Assist with program budgets and reporting;
- Help manage assets (equipment, tools, devices, material, etc.) to ensure appropriateness of purchases;
- Create and track requisitions and invoices, payments, equipment, deliverables, and other items related to the project;
- Manage all students who may be hired to support the grant;
- Serve as the contact person for high school liaison, MassBay faculty and staff, and students and their families who are enrolled or interested in the program;
- Assist the Grant PI on collecting and organizing data for reports;
- Maintain compliance with budgetary and reporting requirements, and compliance with Institutional Review Board submissions and revisions as necessary;
- Maintain complete electronic files of all project activities and artifacts;
- Other duties as assigned.
STEM Starter Academy Grant:
- Assist with STEM outreach targeted to diverse student populations including but not limited to – high school students; current and undeclared students and adult learners. Outreach includes developing marketing materials and conducting STEM presentations on MassBay’s campus as well as at external venues;
- Manage work-study students and SSA Student Assistants who support the grant;
- Coordinate and deliver, in conjunction with the SSA Team, STEM Forums, events and field trips for STEM students throughout the academic year;
- Review the bi-weekly STEM Student Newsletter and the monthly high school newsletter produced by the Project Coordinator;
- Assist with coordinating and delivering the Summer STEM Starter Academy Program and other SSA Programs as needed;
- With assistance from the SSA Project Coordinator, manage the SSA program budget and ensure timely and appropriate spending on activities.
- Participate in monthly meetings with fiscal and grants office to ensure grant expenditures are on target for the program year;
- Assist with the collection and reporting of semester and annual data as well as yearly implementation plans;
- Serve as STEM Coach for a small caseload of STEM students;
- Participate in monthly SSA Team Meetings, monthly SSA grant meetings and SSA retreats.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required – Master’s Preferred;
- 5-7 years’ experience working in higher education or K-12;
- Superior oral and written communication skills;
- Experience making public presentations;
- Work well in teams as well as independently;
- Available to work some weekends and evenings.

Additional Information:
Salary Range: $75,000.00 - 85,000.00 Annual Salary
