Cannabis Communication Coordinator (Community Service Aide III) Job at City of Portland, OR
The Office of Community & Civic Life is looking for their next Communication Coordinator for the Cannabis Program!
The Office of Community & Civic Life assists with marketing, communication, and outreach for the Cannabis Program. This position will work directly with the Cannabis Program Manager and the Office of Community & Civic Life Communications Team. The Cannabis Program oversees the regulatory, licensing, compliance, community impact, and equity initiatives for Portland’s legal cannabis industry.
What you'll get to do:
Collaborate with a small team of professionals, paraprofessionals, contractors, and/or volunteers.- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs or activities, including community and media promotions, education and advertising campaigns, and organizational unit projects and initiatives.
- Coordinate the sharing of information to ensure consistency in unit messaging and branding of programs, services, events, policies, and procedures to increase public awareness of mission and goals.
- This position will be heavily involved in maintaining websites, social media presence, and hardcopy and electronic forms, applications, and brochures; create and revise current forms, applications, and brochures.
- Apply the principles, practices, and techniques of communication theory and best practices in web design, social media, online marketing, and website maintenance.
- Prepare concise and comprehensive reports, correspondence, and other documents.
Position Details:
- Work Schedule: Flexible within M-Friday 1400 hours part time
- Work Location: Remote Hybrid, one day in person at the Portland Building, 1120 SW 5th Ave Suite 114 Portland, Oregon 97204
- Start Date: Late January or early February 2023.
This is a casual Community Service Aide position limited to maximum of 1,400 hours worked in a calendar year. This position is not benefits eligible.

COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement

2. Knowledge of community engagement, outreach, and event planning.

4. Ability to maintain and establish relationships with a small team of professionals.
5. Ability to communicate clearly, logically, and persuasively, both verbally and in writing.
