Civil CAD Technician

This person will be designing and drafting conceptual to final construction drawings for multiple groups, as they are a shared service. On a daily basis, this person will be focusing on projects related to roadway, drainage, water and sanitary sewer system design.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Use of AutoCAD Civil3D to perform accurate drafting and annotation for plan and profile plans and details
Use project agency criterial, project specifications and verbal instructions to complete assignments
Coordinate with Project Manager and Project Engineer to ensure client specific demands are being met
Complete redlines for modification of existing plans and notes or preparation of new details or design elements
Complete construction plan sets by compiling all plan and profile drawings, note and details to present a comprehensive constructible design
Review record drawings to ensure that field and technical data is properly indicated on the drawings
Assist with coordination of private utility and agency approvals
Quality control assistance of client specific deliverables according to standards and best practices
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of AutoCAD experience within the civil industry, preferably with public utility design, residential / commercial site design, etc.
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D
Any prior experience assisting in the design process for submitting to the city or county (i.e. City of Houston, Harris County, etc.)
Understand and communicate project specifications
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Associate’s degree or technical degree in Drafting/Designing or similar
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
