Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Buyer II to join the Data, Power & Control Team in Independence, OH.
What Will You Do?
Role: Ensure that products are properly planned, ordered, and received in the proper amount to achieve service level and inventory turn goals. Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, control inventory levels, and other tactical buying actitives. The position is further
responsible for run SIOP meetings with cross function teams to ensure forecast accuracy.
Main Job Duties:
1. Run material requirements planning (MRP) reports, plan and place Purchase Orders
accordingly to agreed price, correct vendor part number (VPN) and quantities
2. Enter supplier delivery dates and tracking numbers in MRP system
3. Process Return To Vendor (RTV) for conforming products in a timely manner
4. Send open PO reports to supplier to ensure supplier on time delivery at weekly basis
5. Obtain product lead time from suppliers and respond to lead time requests from
Customer Service and Sales and
6. Close communication with customer service where expedited parts are
required including the transfer to Drop Ship (direct from vendor to customer) to
reduce the lead time on delivery
7. Expedite or defer purchase orders as required based on schedule/inventory
changes
8. Work with PLM/Engineering/QC for NPI samples and qualification status.
9. Manage and resolve issues regarding supplier PO, invoice, logistic, etc. issues
10. Maintain and update product planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks,
cost, VPN) in MRP system
11. Manage inventory turn as company financial requirement
12. Run SIOP (sales,inventory & operations planning) forecast meetings with sales
team and other cross functional teams to ensure forecast accuracy
13. Collaborate with internal customers to support customer on-time delivery and
service level
14. Run and improve supplier scorecards and work with suppliers for corrective actions
15. Other supply chain initiatives as needed
Qualifications
Education: BS in Business, Operations Management or related or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications
Education: BS in Business, Operations Management or related or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- 2-4 years experience in purchasing and material planning in a manufacturing environment
- Optics, networking, or electronics industrial background preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Ability to aggressively manage suppliers while managing multiple stakeholder needs
- Ability to manage multiple projects and processes simultaneously
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Sense of urgency to prioritize tasks
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, eager to learn, positive, competitive, aggressive, fast
- Proficient utilizing Windows, MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, and ERP/CRM
- Knowledge Six Sigma is a plus
- Understanding of forecasting and planning practices SIOP
- Program management and project management leadership skills is a plus
- Highly organized, excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be a highly motivated self starter, with the ability to interact with individuals at all
- Demonstrates ethical behavior as a sourcing professional
