Position Overview:

The Economic Alliance is seeking a motivated, goal-oriented, and resourceful economic development professional to join our team. The Business Outreach/Marketing Specialist will work with businesses from multiple sectors in Okanogan County and beyond to strengthen our communities for economic growth throughout the county.

Primary duties include serving as a secondary point of contact in Economic Development and Business Outreach for the county including businesses who have been impacted by the covid 19 pandemic. This position will also be the point of contact for the Small Business Resource and Technology Center.

Job responsibilities.

The candidate must have the skills and experience to perform the following duties.

· Conduct outreach visits to businesses within Okanogan County.

· Identify and track business problems and issues and see projects through to resolution.

· Assess economic development issues, trends, and high-impact solutions during outreach visits.

· Compile required reports and input data into our contracted databases as directed by the Executive Director.

· Meet specific targets for unique company visits and services according to our grants and programs.

· Identify companies with key real estate and growth projects and connect leads with the cities and counties planning departments and public officials.

· Attend meetings and related events to foster strong internal staff and external stakeholder relationships.

· Conduct outreach visits to non-manufacturing related businesses within the County and municipalities and work to match available public, non-profit and private technical and financial resources to business needs.

· Build and maintain relationships with business owners, public officials, non-profits, and intermediaries.

· Identify and track business problems and see projects through to resolution

· Serve as brand ambassador for economic development in Okanogan County by attending events, seeking out public speaking opportunities and developing relevant content, marketing events and programs for the business community.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

PRIMARILY INTERFACES WITH:

Economic Alliance staff and Board, chambers, business owners and community leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

· Experience with, knowledge of, and/or interest in manufacturing, workforce, and economic development

· Minimum of 2-3 years’ work experience

· Accomplished in project management.

· Experience working with social media platforms, adobe, and canva for marketing.

· Demonstrated success delivering strong customer service.

· Knowledge of business operations and local, state and federal economic development resources

· Fluent in Spanish: Both Speaking and Writing preferred but not required.

· Experience working with Diverse Communities

· Demonstrated success meeting targets, project goals and deadlines

Education

· Bachelor’s degree in business, economic development, urban planning and development, or related field or equivalent work experience- preferred but not required.

· Outgoing, sales personality with excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal, written and over the phone.

· Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple projects

· Creative approaches toward problem solving

· Works independently and in a team environment

· Resourceful, persistent, love of learning, detail-oriented and accountable for results

· Understands the connection between economic and community development with an equity lens

OTHER:

This is a full-time position requiring occasional evening and weekend work. Must have reliable transportation and possess a valid driver’s license.

Must be comfortable working in various settings. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva and Adobe.

COMPENSATION:

Hourly Wage Range: $24.00-$28.00 per hour and Annual Wage Range $49,920$-58,240 per year DOE

The Economic Alliance offers competitive compensation and benefits, including, medical, dental, vision, simple IRA and paid time off after a 60 day probation period.
