NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs


If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range

$75,900 - $146,200

  • Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate¿s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like


An exciting and challenging position exists for a Business Operations Analyst to join the 10654 team, supporting the Pathfinder Technologies area within Center 5400, Integrated Military Systems. You will work closely with a variety of Technical Managers, Project Leads, internal stakeholders, and external sponsors to provide budget management, financial analysis and reporting, project coordination, procurement planning, and project projections. You will be heavily integrated within their technical teams and be essential for their Mission success. This is a Business Lead role that requires leadership and teaming with a group of business professionals, students, and strong partnership with 10454.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Team closely with and lead fellow business professionals, internal technical partners and external sponsors.
  • Oversight of a variety of budgets, financial deliverables, and programmatic deliverables.
  • Work with SPP and/or internal projects regarding funding, project initiation and setup, financial analysis, cost estimates, cost plans, monitoring and reviewing costs and variances, and projections.
  • Work closely with 5440 Senior Manager and 5440 Management Team for program execution, process improvement, and program management support.
  • Respond to time critical ad-hoc action items, utilize critical thinking skills to solve complex issues and have the ability to be agile and flexible.

Qualifications We Require

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant Business discipline plus five or more years of directly related experience; or a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline plus one or more years of directly related experience, or the equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel as well as other Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience leading a team and creating consistent business processes and procedures.
  • Active Q-level DOE security clearance or DOD equivalent.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Experience working with SPP proposals and funding, EBI, Oracle, ARC, SSA, Power BI, Cost Estimating Tool (CET) and Project Estimating Tool (PET)
  • Strong customer focus with enthusiasm and a desire to effectively manage the administrative/business needs for the project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work multiple issues simultaneously.
  • Ability to set and handle constantly changing priorities, while subject to a various workload, interruptions, and time pressures.

Security Clearance


Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
