Paradise Jets, a growing luxury aviation company based in Mesa, AZ, is seeking a DIRECTOR of MAINTENANCE who is systems-driven, detail-oriented, possessing a competitive spirit with strong leadership skills, and willing to be an integral part of helping us execute and achieve our big vision.

As our ideal DOM, you should enjoy the nuances of private aviation, easily handle variety in your work, thrive in fast-paced environments, and manage rapid changes in schedules well. You demonstrate a great deal of flexibility, mental stamina, and positivity with disruptions, shifting priorities, deadlines, and/or goals as unpredictable, unforeseen situations and problems occur. You also embrace being on the leading edge of a growth-oriented, experience-focused aviation company.

Keen on building a trustworthy and tight-knit relationship between the flight crew and maintenance staff, the Paradise DOM is a driving force who is comfortable exhibiting a factual, straightforward, direct, and to the point communication style, while still being optimistic and upbeat. You are analytical, attentive to multiple tasks, details, procedures, and specific job assignments, and move quickly to ensure others involved stay focused and committed until the priorities at hand are accomplished.

We are searching for someone with significant real-world experience in removing barriers and excuses to getting better and getting things done. Able to continuously hold personal egos in check, as our DOM, you should have an uncommon level of mental maturity, be an accessible mentor, willing to share your time and expertise, and be committed to helping others develop and hone their skill sets. You should be highly knowledgeable (but not all-knowing), demonstrating the curiosity and openness to explore new ideas and concepts brought to you by your team and peers, and proactively staying out ahead of technology and trends.

Outstanding communication skills are critical as a Paradise DOM. This includes keeping everyone in the “information loop” and being open to inquiries, suggestions, and resolutions from all members of the Paradise Team. As an integral part of the Paradise Leadership Team, you must also be a collaborative player, appreciating and understanding all functional areas of our company: maintenance, scheduling, flight operations, compliance, and business management. You should also consistently strive to understand and rationally apply the Paradise Jets mission, vision, and key objectives in all decision-making.

The Paradise DOM will participate in the maintenance and updating of the GMM, safely maximize aircraft availability, consistently communicate aircraft status to stakeholders, make airworthiness decisions, ensure aircraft are mechanically prepared for scheduled repairs, develop relationships with parts vendors, develop system for parts management and sales, participate in the development of a Part 145 repair station, develop the organic capabilities of the aircraft fleet, manage all MX staff, act as a liaison with the FAA, and achieve FAA Diamond Award.

To be considered as our DOM, you must be a Master Mechanic with an extreme level of expertise in all standard and emerging areas, such as mechanical systems, components, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and rigging. Advanced knowledge with external regulations and functional work standards that affect technical requirements and outputs is critical. Maintenance of Embraer 145 and Lear Jets is preferred. Extensive experience with executive jet maintenance and repair is strongly preferred. You also must meet all FAA and safety requirements, hold a valid A&P Certificate, Airframe and Powerplant Certificates, FCC General Operators license, and Inspector Authorization.

The DOM must be based within the Phoenix metro area. Therefore, if relocation is necessary, we will include up to $5,000 in moving expenses. We provide a competitive base salary with incentive-based bonuses. You'll also enjoy an outstanding, comprehensive benefits package with fully covered medical, dental, and vision premiums. You must pass a background and drug/alcohol test.
