• 4+ years of experience conducting analysis and data mining using Excel. • Proficient extracting and processing data using SQL. • Analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and drive project roadmaps. • Proven experience in developing requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting, familiarity with data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Quicksight. • Demonstrated ability to display complex quantitative data in a simple, intuitive format and to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
Job summary
We are looking for a creative, experienced, Business Analyst to help us prevent bad actors from adversely impacting our ability to delight Customers by translating analytic insights into concrete, actionable recommendations on product/process improvements. From Day 1, you will be challenged with a variety of tasks, ranging from data pipeline monitoring to building metrics, solving business problems using analytical techniques, identifying anomalies, trends, and opportunities to impact key performance metrics while generating & implementing insightful recommendations. You will interact with Investigators, Risk Managers, Program/Product owners and technical teams to gather requirements and offer solutions.

  • Will have relevant experience in data analytics working with large data sets to extract and transform data using various tools and technologies.
  • Will transform data into actionable business information, and will make it readily accessible to stakeholders worldwide.
  • Will use data to support ideas, drive actionable outcomes, and provide unique ways to present data and information in an easy to consumable format.
  • Will be passionate about finding root causes, trends, and patterns and how they impact business.
  • Will draw inferences and conclusions, create dashboards and visualizations of processed data.
  • Will have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with product owners to understand key business questions to build reports that enable product owners to answer those questions quickly and accurately.
  • Will be very comfortable juggling competing priorities and handling ambiguity.
  • Will thrive in an agile and fast-paced environment on highly visible projects and initiatives.

About the team
Amazon's Bad Actor Disincentives (BAD) team works to ensure that bad actors cannot profit from using our services to abuse Customers, Selling Partners or our Store. Our risk mining team continually innovates, experiments, and Thinks Big when it comes to stopping bad actors from harming our customers and our store.

• Experience in e-commerce and/or payments fraud, risk, or abuse. • Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling. • Excellent communication (verbal, written, and data presentation) and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams. • Experience working in a matrixed-environment with global colleagues, particularly India and USA. • Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency with additional scripting languages • Experience working with Data Science teams and ML models.
