Business Analyst Job at Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP
Overview:
The Business Analyst position will be responsible for ensuring that Information Technology understands the business requirements for the legal and administrative teams at NMRS. Strong technical skills coupled with overall business processes and collaboration experience required to build strategic relationships within the firm. Interviewing stakeholders, gathering and documenting user and design requirements to ensure solutions are appropriate as an overall fit for NMRS. Communication, analytical and problem-solving skills must be applied to provide development deliverables. This position reports to Applications Development Supervisor.
A Day in the Life:
- Design technological and business solutions, processes across various administrative and legal vectors of the firm.
- Maintain knowledge of rapidly changing technological market and expertise within the current Technology Team.
- Incorporate collaborative technology use to promote and enable employee collaboration within organizational teams. Stakeholder meetings to develop project scope and identification of issues, risks.
- Identification of user and scope requirements to develop project impact, outcome criteria and metrics.
- Maintain documentation of collaboration patterns for reuse with future solutions.
- Conceptual user requirements translations to functional requirements for developer/project team. Create prototype interfaces to ensure user requirements are clear and concise. Documentation including process and data flow diagrams for new and existing initiatives.
- Assist with quality assurance testing of custom developed applications and solutions.
- Manage and track requirements through the project lifecycle. Communicate changes and enhancements of requirements to project sponsors to ensure consistent and thorough understanding.
- College diploma, law firm experience a plus.
- Solid understanding of collaboration technologies and concepts with a business and technical analysis, modeling and methodology development for Microsoft based collaboration tools.
- Oversee design, development, testing and implementation of overall solutions.
- Demonstrated project management skills including application of system lifecycle concepts for collaboration solutions requiring custom development.
- Ability to apply outside of the box thinking and analytical skills to create new solutions for NMRS business concerns.
- Listening and interpersonal combined with communication and problem-solving skills required.
- Project prioritization, attention to detail coupled with self-motivation and strong customer-service focus.
- Extended working hours, including evening and weekend work to meet deadlines may be required.
