JRI’s fiscal leadership ensures timely and accurate budget preparation and monitoring for various programs funded by state, local, federal, and private funding sources. We are looking for a Budget Director with demonstrated experience with programs funded by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Disabilities, Massachusetts Department of Youth Services, and Massachusetts Department of Mental Health to join our team of fiscal leaders.
This position is expected to be knowledgeable of rate setting, state and federal contracts, including forms and procedures associated with unit rate and cost reimbursement contracts. Third Party and Medicaid budgeting experience a plus. Furthermore, this position will maintain accurate budget information critical to reporting and will be able to communicate relevant information to JRI’s senior leadership and program staff in a clear, timely, and collegial manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in accounting, business, financial or management science.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting or other fiscal functions in a large human service organization, with EOHHS & DESE funding is essential.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
- Good judgment and ability to relate effectively to human services providers and state agency personnel.
- Ability to conceptualize projects and maintain clear work organization and staff accountability to ensure the progress and completion of many simultaneous projects.
- Capacity to work as a member of a management team and communicate effectively with both staff and executive personnel.
Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible for the fiscal management of various contracts and programs funded by the Massachusetts Department of Developmental Disabilities, Massachusetts Department of Youth Services, and Massachusetts Department of Mental Health
- This position will monitor the financials for programs and meet with Directors and Senior Leadership on spending, productivity, and staffing.
- This position will also liaise with funders to negotiate budgets that will best serve the clients of each program.
