SUMMARY:
RSUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting the Manager with the management of the activities and staff of the Spa in a courteous and professional manner while exceeding the high standards of the hotel.
- Assists with the scheduling, review and evaluation of the work of assigned staff.
- Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for the department; assists with the management of spa budget.
- Oversees the selection, training, professional development and discipline of staff.
- Ensures resolution of issues and guest satisfaction.
- Designs marketing and promotions to grow spa exposure throughout the property, guest, owners and members including spa specific events, participation in property wide events, and daily, weekly, and monthly promotions.
- Maintains and creates strong vendor and community relationships through co-marketing and events.
- Generates orders for supplies, functional and decorative items for the Spa, Pool, and Fitness.
- Manages ordering and inventory and continuously evaluate pricing; researches, sources and selects new retail items that add interest and grow revenue.
- Trains staff regarding client education and sales techniques.
- Creates additional menu items (treatment descriptions, protocols, pricing) as needed to expand selection and keep items fresh and appealing.
- Maintains and creates strong interdepartmental relationships with managers and staff throughout the property.
- Provides reporting and analysis as needed to support accounting.
- Covers essential functions of front desk including scheduling, answering phones, greeting and checking out guests, providing tours, maintaining pool, and fitness area.
- Ensures all team members fully comply with rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facilities.
- Oversees retail operation for purposes of inventory, sales management and new product selection.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the unit's service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a team.
- Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
Performs all the duties of the Attendant, when no attendant is present.
Skills/ Requirements
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED; AND four (4) years of experience supervising Spa or health club operations; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of:
- Principles and practices of employee supervision, including selection, work planning, organization, performance review and evaluation, and employee training and discipline.
- Principles and practices of managing Spa operations and marketing.
- Principles and practices of developing teams, motivating employees and managing in a team environment.
- Policies and procedures of the department.
- Principles and practices of budgeting and accounting.
- Use of specified computer applications involving word processing, queries, data entry and/or standard report generation.
- Office administrative practices and procedures.
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds, in person and over the telephone.
Skill in:
- Planning, organizing, supervising, reviewing and evaluating the work of staff.
- Training others in policies and procedures related to the work.
- Providing customer service.
- Performing budgeting and accounting functions for assigned operations.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mobility to work in a standard spa and retail setting, use standard office equipment; stamina to sit for extended periods of time; strength to lift and carry up to 20 pounds; vision to read printed materials and computer screen; dexterity to utilize computer equipment; hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.

Pay Comments: The pay range represents the low and high end of the Timbers range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of work, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Timbers total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include various incentives, such as tips, commissions, bonus, and many region-specific benefits.
