Billing Specialist, Private Care Job at Leading Home Care
Leading Home Care, an in-home personal care provider for the elderly and persons with disabilities, is seeking an Billing Specialist who will specialize in private insurance & out-of-pocket services.

Responsibilities:
- Bill private insurance companies for long-term care services provided by LHCL
- Review & process caregiver timesheets, notating and remediating any errors or missing time
- Track remaining balance of policyholder’s insurance benefits
- Work through and resolve claim denials to ensure LHCL is paid for services rendered
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding issues affecting billing
- Communicate with clients and their families regarding insurance coverage
- Direct billing to client/responsible party for out-of-pocket services, including creation of custom invoices specific to payor specifications
- Monitor age/size of past due balances and report when limit is exceeded; attempt to collect on past due balances
- Print and file all submitted invoices
- Communicate ongoing issues with Staffing, Client Care, and HR departments
- Comply with all guidelines established by LDH, LHCL, and insurance companies
- Establish and maintain a professional and open line of communication with affiliates of LHCL
- Model the LHCL values of Compassion, Trust, Integrity, and Accountability
- Additional tasks related to departmental functions as requested
Requirements:
- High School diploma
- Preferred: 2+ years of billing experience
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and ability to operate office equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-directing and able to work with little supervision
- Punctual, professional and dependable
- Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions in English
- Physical requirements include stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, and climbing stairs. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs (carrying supplies, boxes, etc.)
- Must satisfactorily pass all required and applicable State & Federal eligibility verifications, including background, driving and other record checks

Office hours are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Friday

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
