Position Summary
The Registration and Records department serves as the data steward for all academic data and is therefore responsible for developing efficient and effective systems for collection, storage, update and distribution of data that affect other College academic functions. In addition, Records and Registration is a student facing position where excellent customer service and communication skills are key. This position specifically will provide translation services to Spanish-speaking students and community members, as necessary. Provide courteous service and accurate information to College customers and staff. Process student enrollment transactions and provide information to students about procedures and services related to the function of the Records and Registration Office. Collect receipts due to the institution and properly prepare daily deposits.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Translate student and community facing institutional documents into Spanish
- Interpret and translate for students and community members to support bilingual efforts on-campus
- Prepare and process enrollment transactions in accordance with enrollment status
- Work closely with Academic Advising staff to ensure that students are registered with the proper academic waivers for prerequisites
- Prepare and process drop/add transactions in accordance with current refund criteria
- Process Dean’s Permission to Register and Instructor Waiver of Prerequisite
- Requires thorough understanding and implementation of FERPA law and MCC confidentiality policy
- Utilize the proper forms and procedures based on the following status: Foreign Student, High School Student, Transfer Student, Senior Citizen Student, Out-of-District Student, in-district student, out-of-state student and Continuing Education Student
- Inform students of, as well as process, procedures for Running Start, Joint Agreements, Charge Backs, Transcript Requests, Payment Plans, Insurance Verifications, Proficiency Exams, Graduation Applications, Company Billable, Gift Certificates, Release of Confidentiality, and reply forms
- Process the monies for internal department transfers
- Prepare and itemize daily deposits verifying cash, checks, and credit card transactions
- Add and remove business restrictions when necessary
- Assist Bursar with the duties associated with NSF checks and fees, collection accounts, various business restrictions
- Operate the College communication system using telecommunication integrated systems. Provide information and directions to callers in a fast paced, high call volume environment. May operate multiple electronic devices and systems simultaneously
- Manage telephone communications in a professional, helpful manner, providing accurate information and transferring calls to the most appropriate department or person
- Close office in accordance with specific procedures regarding the safe, lights, and equipment
- Work collaboratively with others (e.g., colleagues, stakeholders, vendors) to accomplish functions and responsibilities
- Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Required Education
Associate's Degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
Other Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or minimum of two years’ experience in detail-oriented and technology-oriented position
- Two years’ experience working in a technology-oriented job demonstrating general computer knowledge and skills
- Two years’ experience in related area
- Fluent in Spanish; both verbal and written
